-Did you know that autism costs to the nation reach $126 billion a year?
-Did you know that it is our responsibility as a nation to think about the many children with autism and encourage our national leaders to develop a national autism action plan that will include funding for research, medical assistance, education, job training, as well as a strategy to address the needs of the autistic community as they become adults?
- Did you know that I have an average of 3 to 5 students with autism or ASD in my third grade class each year?
- Did you know that my next job will be working exclusively with children with autism?

P.S. I don't have a different job right now, for anyone that may have thought from reading above. Currently there are no specialized degrees or teaching endorsements for working with children with autism in Oregon. Currently you have to get your special education degree and endorsement- which is much broader then the area in which I want to focus, but it is coming. It is coming because the need is huge.
