Ava turned 10 months old on New Year's Day. She is full of joy and love.
At 10 months she is pulling up and walking around the furniture, she is crawling around getting into everything. She loves to dance and will move to any sound whether or not it's actually music. Yesterday while I was doing some cooking she was dancing to the sound of the hand mixer, Sophia and I were laughing so hard. She is happy unless she is hungry. Then she goes from happy to devastated in 3 seconds or less.
She loves to blow raspberries.
She loves watching her sister and playing with her. She looks up to her so much!
She has two teeth on the bottom. She loves yogurt, pears, applesauce, bananas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash. She's turns orange from eating so many orange veggies. She has recently started eating more solid food and likes pancakes, waffles, and grilled cheese. She can eat a lot in teeny tiny bites with those two tiny teeth. Puffs are still her very favorite.
She still has bottles throughout the day and night. Her longest record of sleeping through the night is two nights in a row. Yeah, that's right two whole nights in a row. Most nights she is up two or three times still. Steven and I have gotten to the point of having zero expectations regarding her sleep, and since we have no expectations it's not nearly as frustrating getting up so much in the night. It is challenging, especially with us both having busy work days, but we know this is just a stage of life and one day we'll feel rested again. It has also proven to us that no matter what sleeping "philosophy" you choose it really just depends on the child. We have treated sleep the same way with both Sophia and Ava and Sophia slept great through the night as a baby and Ava doesn't.
One reason we think her sleep is not so great is that she has experienced one illness after another for months on end. Just in the last month she had an awful cough, a stomach bug, a double ear infection that also was accompanied by an upset tummy, then she finally got better from the ear infections, and she got another stomach virus last week. She has been to the doctor about once a week for weeks and weeks on end. We were excited because this last week she made it through five days of daycare without getting sick. However, today she has quite a nasty cough. Hopefully it does not turn into anything else.
I can't believe that our baby is coming up on turning one so quickly. She has been through a lot with her constant sickness, but she is so sweet and mellow and happy. We are so lucky! We love you Miss. Ava!!!
