She's 5!

In mid March we had a joint birthday party for both of our March girls. Sophia requested a Cinderella party so that's just what we did. Her main requests for their party was cupcakes, Ruffle potato chips with ranch dip, juice boxes, to go to the park, and for her and Ava to be wearing matching outfits with tutus. It turned out to be a beautiful day, especially for mid March, and we were able to fulfill all of Sophia's party requests.
All ready before the party.

Sophia also got to experience a new thing- bringing her class treats for her birthday. She wasn't going to be at school on her actual birthday since it would be over my Spring Break so her last day before vacation we stopped at Fred Meyers before school and work and she picked out pink frosted cookies to share with her friends. She was so excited.

A few days later we celebrated Sophia's real birthday. Unfortunately I spent about 6 hours at the doctor with Ava that day (more about that soon). Luckily it was Noni to the rescue, she came down and took Sophia to the library, the Carousel (or care center as Sophia still calls it๐Ÿ’œ), and to Panda Express for lunch. Then that afternoon we gave Sophia her presents. We got her a new big girl bike, a new bigger helmet, and some books. She liked them all.

We "wrapped" her bike by hiding it under a few blankets.

What could be under this blanket?
She loves her big girl princess bike!

After presents we took Sophia to dinner at Red Robin. She had been requesting this for weeks and although Steven and I were exhausted since Ava had been so sick we went to dinner and Sophia had a great time. They even sang to her and gave her an ice cream sundae.

Getting sang to...
Showing me she's 5 years old
This girl is so much fun. At five years old she loves playing babies, Barbies, Legos, and doing art. She is writing her letters and more and more words. She loves school and singing. Show and tell and chapel are the highlights of her week. She is an amazing big sister and calls Ava "honey" and "pumpkin". She still needs about 12 hours of sleep every night and sometimes takes naps during the day. She loves to read books.

In asking her her favorites these are her replies:
Her favorite show is Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.
Her favorite movies are Finding Nemo and Cinderella.
Her favorite foods are milk, Mac n cheese, spaghetti and meatballs, corn dogs, chicken, and grilled cheese- oh and ketchup too.
Her favorite colors are pink, purple, and red.
Her favorite things to do at school are paint, color, write, do circle time, and do jobs.
Her favorite things to do at home are play outside, cook, make cookies, help feed Ava, play with her Barbie house, play babies, and dress up.
Her favorite drinks are: chocolate milk, white milk, juice boxes, and ice water.

I can't believe we have a five year old already, and that she'll be starting kindergarten in the Fall. She is joyous, loving, sensitive, kind, happy, strong, smart, and funny. We are very lucky to be her parents.
