In the World of Four and a Half

In the world of four and a half...
There are princesses and fairies.
There is the letter "A" and the number 7.
There are cuddles and runny noses,
bad dreams and shadow puppets.
There is "Old McDonald Had a Farm" and  "You Are My Sunshine".
There is endless singing of the ABC's.
There is carsickness and bruises and skinned knees and tears.
There is swinging and pumping and touching the trees.
There is beauty in a sunrise, and excitement and trepidation in a storm.
There is Dora, Cinderella, and Team Umizoomi "ready for action".
There are tea parties and baking, stirring and stickiness.
There are glue sticks and watercolors, counting and letters.
There is the world of pretend, of best friends, and of birthday parties.
There are car rides and city buses, fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances.
There is Duck Duck Goose and Red Light Green Light.
There is line leader and flag holder.
There are naps and quiet time.
There are
cold sippy cups filled with chocolate milk and baggies filled with dry cereal.
There are packs of fruit snacks, apple slices, and yogurt sticks.
There is just one more snuggle, one more hug, one more kiss.
The world of four and a half is a beautiful and heartwarming place to be.
In the world of four and a half there is a Mommy, in the background, her heart filled with pride, a lump in her throat, an encouraging smile on her face, watching her baby grow into a sweet, smart, loving, and sensitive little girl.
The world of four and a half is an amazing place to be.
