Tip 1: If you are going to bring cupcakes to school for your child's birthday please do these three things- 1) ask the teacher when a good time to drop them off would be, don't just show up, expect the teacher to stop everything they are doing, in turn distracting 28 8 year old's with sugar because you just HAVE to get a picture of your child passing out cupcakes- plan ahead, you know when your child's birthday is! 2) Make sure to get enough cupcakes for all the children in the class- don't just assume there are 24 kids because cupcakes come in packs of 12 and you don't want to buy extra, and 3) Get the same kind of cupcake for all the kids; some say variety is the spice of life but when you are dealing with young children and their feelings getting hurt if they really wanted the chocolate/spiderman/purple frosting cupcake and they end up with a vanilla/fairy/green cupcake. Trust me, it's just not worth it.
Tip 2: When you take your two year old to Safeway to pick up a few groceries after work and all the carts are soaking wet due to the random torrential downpour earlier in your commute don't use a Clorex wipe provided to wipe down the cart the best you can to get it both clean and dry and then place your two year old into the cart seat. If you do this, then when you take your sweet child out of the cart their hot pink leggings will have two white spots on the bottom where the cart bleached them. (Not that that happened to me or anything-ha!)
Tip 3: Don't use the term "working Mom" to describe anyone. Do you ever hear men being described as "working Dad"? No, no you don't!
On another note, there are only 8 more days with students and 10 more of work! And because a post is not a post without a picture, here are three of Sophia from last summer. She has grown SO much!
