6 Month Stats

At six months old Ava Lea weighs 17 pounds 8 ounces. She is 27 inches long. She has no teeth yet, but if her amount of drooling and chewing means anything then we predict she'll have one popping through soon.  She loves her sister, playing on the floor, and rolling all over. Recently she has really been enjoying her jumperoo. Her feet touch the floor really well now so she pushes off and bounces and bounces. She is the queen of blowing raspberries.  She is a happy smiley girl, unless she is hungry.  If she is hungry then you have about thirty seconds to get that bottle in her mouth or she is absolutely devastated and screaming and crying. We say she goes from happy to starving, there is no in between.
Her six month check up yesterday went well, her fever finally broke Thursday night and she is on the mend. She is still very congested, but that will probably be the last thing to go. We have to go back next week for her immunizations. Our doctor thought it would be best to wait since her immune system is still recovering from being so sick this week. So next week we'll take her for her shots and then the following week we'll take her in for her monthly blood work.  If that blood work is consistent with her last few blood tests then we will go to an every three months schedule for getting blood work done. That will last for a few years and we'll just have to take things one blood test at a time.
This weekend we are trying to be pretty mellow.  Steven, and I are both on the brink of catching Ava's cold. The lack of sleep this week has really caught up with Steven and I and we are dragging.  Sophia has been complaining of a tummy ache.  Hopefully we'll all get and stay healthy and we can stop visiting the doctor's office so regularly. It's a good thing we love our doctor and we have good insurance!
And, we can't have a post without a picture. Here is our sweet Ava girl after she finally fell asleep the other night, Steven took this picture at the perfect time. We love our sweet girl. She's just perfect for us.

I know I don't say this often enough Emily, but thanks so much for keeping us all up to date with pictures and stories about your beautiful family! I love my granddaughters to the moon and back! And you and Steven too of course! :-)
