Last Sunday we were enjoying the beautiful warm for Winter weather by going for a long walk and playing at the park. While at the park Sophia fell (more like flew) off the swing and landed pretty hard. By that evening she was complaining of her neck hurting and could not turn her head all the way on one side and couldn't look up- thus turning her two parents into Google searching worrywarts (I don't recommend Googling anything having to do with young children and head injuries by they way-oops). So Monday after a mandatory training morning at work I took her to the doctor where she was diagnosed with whiplash on that one side. Tuesday I stayed home with her as she was still pretty sore. Each day it has gotten better and she has more mobility, but it is still pretty sore.
On Wednesday, Ava started coming down with a cough and by Thursday evening she was really not feeling well. Thursday night she was up every 30 to 45 minutes all night. Since Steven is in training and I already missed a day and was scheduled for my mid year evaluation at work Noni came down and stayed with our sick Ava on Friday (thanks Mom!). Last night Ava's fever got pretty high (over 102) and she was up fussing till 3:45 this morning. Today she has napped better and been fever free. She still has a nasty cough so we may be heading to urgent care tomorrow if it doesn't make a huge improvement. Here's hoping she is on the mend. She almost made it two weeks without illness- poor little babes.
I wouldn't trade my life for anything, but it's been rough. Between sick and injured little ones, a new job for Steven, and a demanding job for me, Steven and I are so tired. At least on our sleepless nights we get to be cuddling these two cuties (mostly just the youngest of the two cuties, ironically sleeping soundly in the pictures below).
Today Sophia got to have some Carousel riding park playing fun with her cousins. "Mom, there not just my cousins, they're also my friends". Love these girls.

The picture above was taken today, February 1. My little baby is 11 months old today and, for the mathematically challenged, she will be a one year old in 1 month! This is a passage that fills me with both sadness and joy. As the cliches go, time is going by way too fast, but I'm so glad this constant babbling, toddling along the furniture, raspberry blowing, sickness after sickness, non-sleeping, mum mum-loving, cuddly baby girl is all ours.
