My Lea Lea

Overall Ava has been pretty healthy lately which has been great. Her most recent blood tests showed that she does not have the antibodies in her blood for the Hashimoto's Thyroid disease and her thyroid had evened out- woohoo- such great news. We have to get blood work done in the next month or so to make sure things with her thyroid continue to be normal, but overall that issue has resolved. She also had an interesting lymph node on her pancreas and we have had two ultrasounds to check it out, one in August and one a few weeks ago. The one a few weeks ago showed it had shrunk by a few millimeters, it was about 2 cm square to begin with which is apparently on the large side for a lymph node in a toddler. Our doctor consulted the pediatric surgeon at OHSU and he said that since it did not get bigger and her blood work had improved that it was no longer a concern- another woohoo!

Two weeks ago she got a cold and had a really tough night- Steven and I assumed she had an ear infection from the way she was acting so the next morning Steven took her to the doctor and the poor girl had pneumonia and an ear infection- that's Ava- go big or go home. She was pretty miserable and very clingy for over a week,  but is doing much better now- thank goodness!
Snuggling with my sick girl one afternoon.

Worn out after her ultrasound which was the same week she got sick. A typical Ava picture, one shoe and sock on and one shoe and sock off- what Ava does anytime she is in the car for more than ten or so minutes.

Sophia taking care of her sick sister.
When Ava was sick she would only sleep if Steven or I were holding her or she was right next to us. Our sleeping beauty.

While Ava was sick, she also began to climb out of the crib- boo! She is so not ready for a bed, but for her safety we had to convert her crib to a toddler bed. This has led to many rough bedtimes and very little nap times. I sometimes feel like we are living in an episode of Super Nanny with how many times we put Ava back in her bed before she finally crashes. It is getting better every day and we bought a video monitor which helps me sleep a lot better knowing I can just peek at the camera and check on her when she is making noise. She is such a light sleeper that if we open her door or make any noise she pops up wide awake.
Playing in the new bed
A pretty cozy spot, since then we bought and installed a railing on her bed which keeps her from rolling out.

Finally, yesterday Ava turned 20 months old- I just really can't believe it!
