I am so proud of Steven for finishing school. The last few years have been busy with getting married, having a baby, working, and going to school and through it all he stuck with his classes and got done! It is so great to now have our evenings and weekends free from him doing homework so we can enjoy the time together and with Miss. Sophia.

As I mentioned in the previous post the same week that Steven finished school he also got a new job! No more jail for Steven! He started his new job with DHS in the Child Welfare division this week. He is learning a lot and is really happy with the job and the responsibilities. He will be working with foster children, foster parents, biological parents, and the courts. He will do many things including supervising visits between foster children and their biological parents, transporting children, and writing reports for the courts and social workers of how parents are interacting with their children. It is a lot to learn but everyone has been super welcoming and helpful to Steven so far. He had his first visit to supervise by himself on his second day of work! He will definitely learn as he goes, and he will become an expert at child welfare laws, adoption laws, installing carseats, navigating his way all around the valley, and being a consistent and caring person in these foster children's lives. Besides being a job that Steven is really interested in and one that is helping to make a difference in these children's lives, it also has normal hours, weekends off, and holidays off which the jail did not so we are really excited about that! Congrats to Steven!
