A Sophia Specific Update

This summer was my third summer home with Sophia and we had great fun spending lots of time together. On the 25th of this month Sophia will be two and a half! I can't believe she is getting so big. She is no longer a baby and is quickly moving from a toddler to a preschooler. Steven and I are really enjoying this age, it definitely has it's challenges (they don't call it the terrible two's for nothing) but really Sophia is a very sweet, manageable, and kind little girl. Sophia continues to be a clown who will do anything for a laugh. She cracks us up with her silly chatter, interactions, and faces on a daily basis.
Her current favorite things to do include: blowing bubbles, swinging, coloring, going for walks, pretending to drive the car, playing catch, going in her backyard pool and to the big pool at the Kroc Center, watching Barney and Cailou (or Cai-gee, as she calls it), reading books, talking about, reading about and looking at anything related to cars, trucks, airplanes, tractors, helicopters, etc., singing the "Tick Tock" song (a song from her swim class) and singing "If You're Happy and You Know It", getting tickled, playing with her doll named Baby, and "scaring" Mommy or Daddy by jumping out at us.
Her favorite foods are: pizza (in fact the other day she woke up, walked out into the living room her hair all crazy and sleep in her eyes and said "Daddy, I want pizza!", so cute), peas, green beans, peaches, macaroni and cheese, fruit snacks, applesauce, milk, yogurt, chicken, homemade sweet potato fries, and cereal.
She has been back at daycare last week and is doing great there, she has one little boy named DJ that she really likes to play with and they have become cute little friends. She will be starting preschool there next week! She is talking more and more everyday. Each day she says something new and impresses us with her ever expanding vocabulary. She has a great sense of humor and any time she is tired or cranky you can usually distract her from her grumps by making a joke, blowing a raspberry on her tummy, or singing a song. She is a good sport in new situations but mostly will stick like glue to my side until she feels comfortable.
I could go on and on but really this entire blog speaks for itself- Sophia is such a gift and we love her so much!
