Snow Day- March 22, 2012

Being that this year has been full of odd weather phenomenon's (e.g. flood day...) it only makes sense that we have a snow day on March 22. This was a super bonus for yours truly as I got to start Spring Break a day early and I got out of one of my dreaded 12 hour long conference days- and as added bonus the day previously we had a two hour delay thus making that 12 hour day a 10 hour day.

Sophia was up early as usual and she was quite interested in this snow.  Now, since she's been born we have only had dusting's of snow.  We have never had snow that covered the streets for a long period of time or was enough to sink into as you walk.  So since we had about 5 inches of snow she was quite impressed.  She immediately wanted to go outside so we changed out of our jammies, bundled up and headed outside.

At first the snow rather freaked Sophia out and here she is retreating back into the safety of the snow free garage

After a few minutes she "warmed up" (no pun intended) and gave the snow two thumbs up!

Checking out our Spring flowers weighed down by snow

Standing out in front of our house

Tromping in the snow- crunch, crunch, crunch

While we were playing in the front yard Sophia requested to walk down to the river to and I quote "see my duckie friends"  By now the road had turned mainly to slush.

It was quite beautiful along the river.  Although we could not find any of Sophia's ducky friends.  Sophia concluded that they were probably sleeping since they were cold.

I had to get a pic of Sophia's cute little footprints in the snow!
